New students at Butler are welcomed to campus during Orientation. The Office of Registration and Records makes sure that you’re connected with an advisor in your academic college. You can always reach out to the Transfer Admission Counselor with any questions. All transfer students are assigned a counselor in the Office of Financial Aid to answer any questions you may have regarding your financial aid package.
Students may be eligible for the Transfer Award, ranging from $8,000-$18,000. More information about financial aid and scholarships can be found here.
Verto participants would be automatically considered for transfer scholarships.
Financial aid packages are shared on a rolling basis upon successful completion of the FAFSA form.

College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Jordan College of Arts are not available to Verto participants
Yes! Butler welcomes both fall and spring transfers from Verto.
While you won’t be eligible for the guarantee, we still encourage you to work with your Verto Care Team to prepare and submit a Verto Partner Application for holistic review.
Your cumulative GPA (pre-Verto and earned during your Verto experience) must be 2.5 to be eligible for the Direct Transfer guarantee. Make sure to request official copies of your prior college transcripts be sent to Butler when you apply.
If your cumulative GPA across all transcripts is under 2.5, you won’t be eligible for the guarantee, however we still encourage you to work with your Verto Care Team to prepare and submit a Verto Partner Application for holistic review.
Butler University values the unique perspectives and diverse experiences that homeschooled students bring to their community. If you’re a homeschooled applicant, interested in applying to Butler’s Direct Transfer Pathway, please note our additional requirement:
- Standardized SAT or ACT test scores are required if you have less than 20 credits.
While you won’t be eligible for the guarantee, we still encourage you to work with your Verto Care Team to prepare and submit a Verto Partner Application for holistic review.

Once you arrive to your Verto location, you can begin working with Verto staff to prepare your application to Butler. Applications are typically sent following mid-terms, so your mid-term report can demonstrate your progress towards Direct Transfer eligibility.
After Butler receives a Verto Partner Application, applicants can expect to receive an admission decision as quickly as possible on a rolling basis.
